Yalla, Let’s Eat Brazilian Shrimp Soup!
Ingredients
2 lb shrimp chopped (16/20)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 onion chopped
2 lime leaves
1 green pepper chopped
1 jalapeno chopped
1 orange or red pepper chopped
3 cloves of garlic chopped
1 ¾ cup crushed tomatoes
1 can diced tomatoes w/green chilies
1 can of unsweetened coconut milk
5 cups of broth*
1 lime or lemon
¼ cup of chopped cilantro
1 teaspoon No Salt Seasoning
½ teaspoon black pepper and salt to taste
Dash of Worcestershire Sauce
1 avocado for garnish
Directions
Add your shrimp shells to the broth. Let it come to a boil.
In a separate pot on medium heat, add your olive oil and lime leaves. Once the oils extract, add your onions and peppers to the pot and sweat them out until translucent.
Add your crushed tomatoes and diced tomatoes w/green chilies to the pot and get it to simmer
Strain your broth from the shells, and add to your pot
Add your spices to the soup, bring the soup to a boil
Add coconut milk and the lemon
Turn your heat off. Add your shrimp to the soup. Add your cilantro
Garnish with avocado
